Tailored to suit your needs whether it be for relaxation or to be more therapeutic for such ailments as thoracic outlet syndrome, whiplash, or TMJ dysfunctions. The modalities that can be used during this massage are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Joint Range of Motion.
Swedish: Flowing, relaxing massage. Wonderful for increasing circulation, releasing stored toxins, relieving stress and calming the nervous system. Can also include joint range of motion, which helps to stretch muscles.
Deep Tissue: Works deeper into the muscles by methodically manipulating tendons, ligaments, and through the bellies of the muscles. This therapy can release chronic muscular tension.
Neuromuscular Therapy(Trigger Point): Addresses specific neuromuscular pathologies by applying precise pressures to remove trigger points. Trigger points are specific points in muscles that are deprived of proper nutrients, oxygen and circulation which can cause local pain and pain in other muscles or organs.
Myofascial Release: Removes distortions in the body by realigning fascia, a connective tissue in the body, which allows better function and movement of the body.Pregnancy can be a difficult time. The woman goes through many changes structurally and hormonally in addition to mental and emotional changes. This style of massage has components of swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, neuromuscular, and reflexology that help support those changes and decrease pain and stress. The difference of this style from a normal massage is that there are many places on a pregnant woman that should not be stimulated until she is in labor. There are also many places that can be stimulated that are of great benefit.
Postpartum massage realigns the body after childbirth. This can help hormonal imbalances, facilitates healing from C-Section, rehabilitates skin and muscles of the abdomen, realigns the pelvis, addresses hemorrhoids, tearing, bladder and colon dysfunction, and uterine displacement. It gives the new mom a chance to relax and heal so she can be healthy for her new child.
Maya Abdominal Massage is a non-invasive, external massage technique. It guides internal abdominal organs into their proper position for optimum health and well-being. Maya massage improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. This massage is effective for both men and women.
The technique applies anatomy, physiology, and herbology with ancient Maya healing techniques to address common female and male complaints. The technique works by relieving congestion and blockages to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology.
Maya Abdominal Massage combines modern science with traditional healing and wisdom to produce a holistic path to physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Additionally, herbal remedies and other natural products are available that may enhance the effect of the treatment and may be indicated based on the lifestyle consult.
Follow-up care depends on individual goals and results. We will work together to ensure your individual health care needs are met either through massage or referral to additional health care providers when necessary to achieve your goals.
Infant massage contains critical elements of bonding as eye-to-eye contact, smiling, soothing vocal sounds, loving touch, caressing, smell, and mutual interaction. In situations where both parents are working, daily massage can help re-establish bonds stressed from separation by providing quality time for parents and baby. This is especially important for fathers since they do not have as many opportunities for nurturing as mothers do.
